Blitz were among the most influential punk bands ever. It was Gary Bushell (who wrote for "Sounds" and was later dubbed the 'Godfather of Oi!') who brought the band to the attention of his friend Chris Berry, who had just set up No Future records with a bank loan and high hopes. Blitz is one the most beloved and influential groups to emerge out of the second wave of U.K. punk. But what is sometimes not recognized is the 2 versions of the band; the early punk sound from the first couple of years and the lesser acknowledged dark wave sound that followed after their first album. Both are completely different but both incredible pieces of work.
Voice Of A Generation LP
Raw, violent and catchy, Blitz's 1982 debut album sounded like a shot of pure rock and roll through the violence of the English working class. Made up by two punks and two skinheads with a lot to say about violence and football, Blitz appealed to all kinds of lowlifes, who finally had a voice for their generation. Limited 180 gram vinyl reissue with original liner sleeve faithfully reproduced.
No Future For April Fools: Live At The Lyceum April 1st 1982 LP
Recorded live at the legendary Lyceum in London in April of 1982, just after the release of their second 7" (with a few tracks from the Skunx club in Islington recorded a few weeks later) this is the band at their absolute live peak. Crucial UK OI! recorded live, the way the genre was meant to be heard, with a beer in one hand and the other with a fist in the air. Blazing and brutal and classic UK82.
Time Bomb Early Singles And Demos Collection LP
This collection brings together 23 tracks including five from the band's first ever recording session, the "All Out Attack" EP, plus a whole lot more. Totally essential material from one of the very best of the second wave UK punk bands.
