Sebadoh were something of the “Beautiful Losers” of the ’90s indie scene. Lou Barlow emerged from Northamption hardcore act Deep Wound, and later Dinosaur Jr., having famously been acrimoniously dismissed from the latter. He’d certainly borrow from J Mascis’s pop instincts, as well as Deep Wound’s wanton aggression, throughout Sebadoh’s existence, while perfecting the art of the sensitive yet self-deprecating indie ballad.

Defend Yourself LP

Ending a substantial hiatus for the band, "Defend Yourself" is more of an organic reformation than a comeback album. The new album also marks a return to the self-recorded DIY ethos of early Sebadoh albums (III, Bakesale, etc.). A handful of sour experiences with major labels led Sebadoh to self-record and self-produce their new album.

Act Surprise LP

Sebadoh return with their first new studio album in more than six years Act Surprised. Act Surprised continues the soulful collaboration that's defined the band since 1991's Sebadoh III and 1994's Bakesale. The new batch of songs reaffirms how vital the creative partnership is between members Barlow, Jason Loewenstein, and Bob D'Amico.
