• G.L.O.S.S - Trans Day of Revenge 7" (Restock)
NERVOUS NELLY RECORDS
BLACK color vinyl version
The second EP from the queer hardcore punk band G.L.O.S.S. conveys a violent and severe world, one in which the only reasonable and intelligent responses are anger and aggression.
Every song clocks in under the two-minute mark, which is generally the perfect length for songs like these. Every bit of this 7-inch contains fast-paced music and powerful lyrics. This album reads like a war cry – it opens with the lines “When peace is just another word for death, its our time to give violence a chance,” and it doesn’t slow down from there.
G.L.O.S.S. is the absolute best band to take on the punk scene in years. They have this fury and a vindication for their rage that a lot been searching for in the scene for far too long. At a time where the political scene is full of toxic masculinity and hate, albums like this could not possibly be more necessary. Transgender women in the US face higher rates of harassment, discrimination, poverty and violence, with most states offering no legal protection – knowing this makes the rage in their songs even more palpable. This 7-inch was released days after the Orlando mass shooting that targeted members of the LGBTQ community.
