Around 1988 SEEIN' RED: Olav-drums, Jos-bass & Paul- guitar/shouting was born out of the ashes of LÄRM. After 8 years of short, fast and noisy hardcore punk we wanted to try out something new. In the early years of SEEIN RED we attempted to play more mid-tempo and melodic Punk with cutting political lyrics challenging the bigotry and injustice of capitalist society. We took influences from bands like the RONDOS, FAITH, IGNITION, FUEL, THE CLASH, MINUTEMEN etc. and tried to make it our own.
After a few records we started to realize that our musical skills were not good enough to keep our new sound interesting. At the same time in 1994 we saw bands like STACK and DROPDEAD at the Vort'n vis Fest in Belgium which made such an impact that we slowly but steadily started to play short and fast hardcore punk again.
The past 36 years years we have made a shitload of records, CD's and tapes. Our discography counts about 50 releases. We played hundreds of gigs and toured all over Europe, America (3x), Japan (2x).
In 2012 we had to stop SEEIN' RED because Jos had serious ear damage due multiple infections and exposure to noise. It seemed to be the final end of SEEIN' RED... But against all the odds and after a six and a half year noise hiatus and surgery on both ears Jos his hearing had improved to such extend that in the summer of 2018 SEEIN' RED started to practice and play gigs again. Since then we are back with a hardcore punk noise attack. " Keep on keeping on until the fight is won! "
